Juventus and Portugal superstar Cristiano Ronaldo received the Player of the Century award at the annual Globe Soccer Award ceremony. Interestingly, the organizers take into account the period 2001-2020 to close such a long period of time. Cristiano Ronaldo attended the ceremony in person in Dubai. He was nominated for the award along with Lionel Messi, Ronaldinho and Mohamed Salah.
Real Madrid was voted Team of the Century, while Josep Guardiola received the Coach of the Century award. The manager of Manchester City won in the competition of Alex Ferguson, Jose Mourinho and Zinedine Zidane. Jorge Mendes, Ronaldo’s agent, took a similar award in his field.
Bayern (Munich), Robert Lewandowski and Hansi Flick were honored for their achievements over the past year.
Gerard Pique and Iker Casillas took career prizes at the same ceremony.
