Emirates Stadium – Arsenal

Hornsey Rd, London N7 7AJ, UK
Emirates Stadium (known as the Arsenal Stadium for Ashburton Grove and UEFA games before sponsorship) is the football stadium of Highbury, England, and the home of Arsenal. With a capacity of 60,704, it is the fourth largest football in England after Wembley Stadium, Old Trafford Stadium and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium field.

In 1997, Arsenal (Issenton Council) rejected a plan to expand its main stadium, Highbury, and therefore explored the possibility of moving to a new stadium. After considering various options (including the purchase of Wembley Stadium), the club purchased an industrial and waste disposal area in Ashburton Grove in 2000. A year later, they obtained the approval of the council to build a stadium on the site. Since the board appointed Herbert Chapman, General Manager Arthur Wenger described it as "the biggest decision in Arsenal history." The relocation started in 2002, but due to financial difficulties, the work was postponed to February 2004. The Emirates Stadium was later announced as the main sponsor of the stadium. The entire stadium project was completed in 2006 and cost 390 million pounds. The club’s former stadium was converted into Highbury Plaza, an apartment complex.

Since 2009, the stadium has undergone an "arsenalization" process, with the aim of restoring a visible connection with Arsenal's history. The stadium hosted international competitions and music concerts.
